Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms apply to your use of ToolStash at https://toolstash.tech ("the site"). By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. There is no account to create, so your use of any tool is the point at which these terms take effect.

2. What the service is

The site provides free utilities that run inside your web browser — PDF and image editing, text processing, calculators, encoders and similar. The processing happens on your own device rather than on our servers, as described in theprivacy policy. We provide the software that runs in your browser; we do not provide file storage, and we do not process your files ourselves.

3. Your content stays yours

You retain all rights to any file, text or other content you use with a tool, and to any output you generate. We acquire no licence, ownership or interest in it — which follows naturally from never receiving it. You are free to use the output for personal, educational or commercial purposes without attribution or payment.

You are responsible for having the right to process the content you use. Do not use these tools on material you are not permitted to modify or copy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to process content whose processing would be unlawful;
• attempt to interfere with, disrupt or overload the site or the infrastructure that serves it;
• scrape, mirror or systematically download the site, or use automated systems to generate artificial traffic;
• interfere with, obscure, block or artificially inflate interaction with advertising shown on the site;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its hosting environment or any connected system;
• reproduce or redistribute the site's code, text or design as your own product, or remove copyright notices from it.

Using the tools normally, including heavily, is fine — there is no usage quota. This section is about abuse, not volume.

5. No warranty

The site and its tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any tool will produce a correct or suitable result for your purpose.

This matters in practice. Browsers differ, files differ, and edge cases exist. Two specific cautions:

• Keep your originals. Tools that produce a new file do not modify your source file, but you should still keep an unmodified copy of anything important until you have checked the output.
• Verify anything consequential. Calculators, converters and generators are provided for general information. Output relating to health, finance, tax, legal matters or official documents is not professional advice and should be confirmed with a qualified professional or the relevant authority. A body-mass-index figure is not a medical opinion, a loan calculation is not a lender's quote, and a passport-photo crop is not a guarantee of acceptance by any government office.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the site — including data loss resulting from a tool producing an unexpected result. Because the site is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the site is limited to zero, except where such a limitation is not permitted by the law that applies to you.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraudulent misrepresentation.

7. Advertising and third-party links

The site displays advertising supplied by third-party networks and may link to sites we do not operate. We do not endorse, control or take responsibility for advertised or linked products, services or content, and any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and them. Advertising is what keeps the tools free of charge; see theprivacy policy for what ad networks collect.

8. Intellectual property

The site's name, design, original text and source code are owned by us or our licensors. The tools are built on open-source libraries, each licensed by its own authors under its own terms, and nothing here restricts your rights under those licences.

9. Availability and changes to the service

We may add, change, suspend or remove any tool or part of the site at any time, without notice and without liability. We do not guarantee that any specific tool will remain available.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be flagged on the site.

11. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect, and the unenforceable provision applies to the maximum extent permitted.
